Dear Kirkland 4th of July supporter:We are disappointed that we were forced to alter our upcoming 72ndAnnual Kirkland Lions Club 4th of July Celebration. We have continued to be the LARGEST fireworks show in Northern Illinois. In 2018 we were ranted #4 and in 2015, we were ranked #7 in the state of Illinois! Unfortuantely our celebration in 2020, will not occur as we hoped and planned. While we are saddened we cannot hold the festival as we hoped, we are looking forward to our return in 2021.The Kirkland Lions Club is a non-profit organization that depends not only on our members to serve our community, but also on our community members to help us fund those in need. The 4th of July Celebration is our main fundraiser each year. We have been able to prosper and serve our community each year with the support of local businesses and individuals who sponsor our not-for-profit event. If you, your business, or someone you know would be interested in supporting our efforts, please click on the links to the left and let us know!As always, a sincere thank you to our previous sponsors! We couldn’t do it without you!We look forward to an exciting year ahead, and for your continued support.

For Immediate Release 5/7/2020In a typical year, this would be the time of year you’d see exciting posts and news related to Kirkland’s 4th of July Festival hosted by the Kirkland Lions Club. However, as we know with COVID-19, this will be far from a typical year. On May 5th, the State of Illinois launched their COVID-19 recovery plan called “Restore Illinois” which identifies a 5-Phase approach to recovery. As it currently stands, our region sits at Phase 2 and appears likely to only be at Phase 3 around July 1st. Therefore, based on guidance of the State of Illinois Health Department and DeKalb County Health Department, the Kirkland Lions Club will regretfully have to cancel the 2020 Kirkland 4th of July Festival. The Kirkland Lions Club thanks all our supporters, sponsors, volunteers and residents who make the Kirkland 4th of July so successful. The Kirkland Lions Club would also like to thank all those who have already contributed numerous hours of planning and working behind the scenes before and during this pandemic on behalf of the Kirkland 4th of July Festival. We are proud of each and everyone’s efforts and hard work! The Kirkland Lions Club understands that some of our residents may be experiencing some tough times now. Please know that the Kirkland Lions Club will do our best to support the community during this difficult time. Please stay connected to the Kirkland Lions Club social media accounts for continued updates on potential events, news or opportunities as we release additional information. The Kirkland Lions Club counts on everyone’s support and understanding with this news. For Immediate Release 5/9/2020We serve. It’s that simple, and it has been since we first began in 1917. Our club is a place where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving our community, and the world. During these unpredictable and unprecedented times the Kirkland Lions Club remains committed to serve through whatever ways we can. In early March of 2020, we were able to raise over $2,000.00 for a local food pantry that allowed them to meet the unpredictable surge in need. In that spirit, and encouraged by other regional fund raising efforts, we have decided to hold the annual 4th of July 50/50 raffle as planned. Raffle Tickets remain available for purchase through local area businesses and through contacting Kirkland Lions Club Members directly. The Kirkland Lions Club will remain committed to following local and state guidelines to protect the health of our members, volunteers, and supporters. As always all funds and donations to the Kirkland Lions Club are used to support local and regional Lions initiatives including area non-profits. We accept general donations electronically and through conventional means. We would like to thank our 2020 50/50 Raffle Sponsor Resource Bank N.A. who shares our passion to support local communities. For more information specific to the Kirkland Lions Club 2020 4th of July 50/50 Raffle please contact Lion Steve @email@example.com or by phone at (815)-739-7879, 5346 Decker Dr, Kirkland, IL 60146.
